With a heritage spanning over 1000 years, Oldcastle is a Jacobean family house and Grade II listed building, said to be the original settlement of Colwall village. It was Founded by Sir John Oldcastle, who was a good friend to William Shakespeare.
Set within 50 acres of farm land and landscaped gardens, The Oldcastle Estate is tucked delicately on the western side of the Malvern Hills and is a destination for luxury, celebration and relaxation, with a contrasting combination of formal and informal spaces, secret gardens and wild lakes; welcoming up to 200 guests indoors and a few thousand outside.

The Oldcastle Estate is family run which means your stay, event or celebration will be like one of our own! Oldcastle is a Grade II listed property with many outside and inside historic architectural features. We encourage you to explore and feel at home in the house and grounds; we want you to be creative and our venue is flexible allowing you to create the most magical wedding or memorable event. Within the grounds there are three luxurious Cotswold style cottages all with their own individual hot tubs – the cottages sleep 18 guests in total.
The calming landscape can be seen from most parts of the estate, and features elegant gardens, lakes and ponds with even a secret garden tucked away for you to explore. We also have, what we have been told is the largest rose arch in the county creating a wonderful country-chic, natural and rustic backdrop and photo opportunities for your event or wedding.
Set within 50 acres of farmland surrounded by untouched views it will feel like you are in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by nothing but hills and inviting forests and naturally overgrown cubby holes. However, Oldcastle is just a stone’s throw from the retail and food heavens of Cheltenham, Birmingham and Bristol with a direct train line to Paddington, London and a short drive to the M50 and M5. The location is the perfect place to retreat with picture perfect views of The Malvern Hills.
